Her achievements include:
In 1990 she passed the Final Organ Examination of the Royal Schools of Music London, with distinction and was recommended for a bursary to continue her organ studies at the Royal Schools of Music in England. She studied organ under Jetty van Rensburg (North West University)
Attended a summer school for organists in Oundle, England – 1993
 Member of the North West University Choir under Prof. Awie van Wyk, for four years.
In 1994 she entered the Standard Bank Campus Talent Festival where she won the category for Composition of Light Music. She has on more than one occasion received merit awards for her Classical Compositions. Hester studied Classical Composition under Prof. Henk Temmingh (North West University)
In 1994 she won the organ category of the SAVMO Eisteddfod in Potchefstroom
She has attended several Master Classes: In Choir Conducting, under Joop Schets (Netherlands), Prof. R. Harris (USA) and Prof. K. Hanken (Norway). In Organ, under Prof. E. Kooiman (Netherlands)
In 1995 she won a bursary from the North West University for Organ Recital
Appointed as accompanist for the North West Children’s Choir, in 2000 and 2001
In 2005 she did arrangements for the North West University Choir and Soloist, Amanda Strydom for the Aardklop festival.
In 2007 she composed a Requiem for the Victims of Crime and Violence in South Africa and it was performed by the Rheinberger Chamber Choir and East Rand Youth Choir and small orchestra ensemble in the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria. A CD and DVD Recording was made of this event.
October 2007, appointed as accompanist for the Hoërskool Jeugland Girls and Boys Choir.
In July 2008 she accompanied the Jeugland Girls Choir for the Choir Olympics in Graz, Austria.
In July 2008 she accompanied the Jeugland Boys Choir at the ATKV Applous Competition in Cape Town. The choir won their category, singing one of her compositions.
The East Rand Youth Choir commissioned Hester to compose a Gloria to be performed together with the Rheinberger Chamber Choir and a symphonic ensemble in the Voortrekker Monument in August 2008. A CD recording was made of this event.
In October 2008, the TUKS Camerata commissioned Hester to compose a special song for the UP. It was successfully performed at a gala evening at the Musaion in Pretoria.
In 2009 the ATKV used one of her compositions as a prescribed work for the ATKV Applous competition.
The East Rand Youth Choir commissioned Hester to compose a Magnificat to be performed together with the Rheinberger Chamber Choir and an orchestra ensemble in the Voortrekker Monument in August 2009. A CD recording was made of this event and can also be seen on youtube.
Released her first children’s CD – Kinderfieterjasies with newly composed Afrikaans songs in November 2009.
In 2010 the Rheinberger Chamber Choir with Richter Grimbeek as conductor commissioned Hester to compose a Christmas Cantate. Hester composed this work in Afrikaans and it was performed at three Christmas Concerts and a CD recording was made of this work released in 2011. Title: ‘n Christusfees vir Vrede
Hester was commissioned by SAKOV to arrange church organ music for a new book to be released for Church Organists. Three of her works were chosen for this project.
SAKOV released Three Books in (2010, 2011 and 2012) they all have arrangements in that was composed by Hester
Accompanied the Hoerskool Jeugland choirs to Rome, Italy in July 2011. The choir sang at the Musica Sacra Competition and both choirs won their categories. The Jeugland Girls Choir sang one of Hester’s compositions.
Was commissioned to compose the School Song for Curro Serengeti. Attended the official opening of the Curro Serengeti.The school performed the new school song.
Was commissioned to compose the music for the Maranatha Christian School Song in 2013.
Was invited to Austria in December 2013 to see the performance of the Magnificat composition. It was performed in Hofkirchen a town between Linz and Salzburg. Richter Grimbeek was the conductor and the Hausruck Voices performed the music with orchestra and three soloists. They gave two performances on the 22nd of December 2013.
Accompanied Hoerskool Jeugland choirs to Bratislava, Slovakia in July 2014. They sang in the 6th International Choir Competition. Both choirs sang compositions of Hester.
Teaches private music lessons at Maranatha Christian School.
Teaches music and art full time at Maranatha Christian School 2015.
Directs 2 choirs at MCS
Teaches recorder lessons at MCS.
Maranatha Christian Primary School Choir comes 2nd in the National Sing in Harmonie Competition on Kyknet in SA. Hester conducted the choir and they sang one of her compositions.
Was Music director and organist of the NG Gemeente Kempton-Kruin for 11 years.
Had a live interview with Prof. Tienie Mans on Pretoria Radio Fm for 60min about Hester’s several classical music compositions. They played several of these compositions on the radio in June 2016.
Appointed as Choir Conductor of the East Rand Men’s Choir in October 2016. This choir was assembled for the first time in October 2016.
Started the Faithful Art program at school 2017. Spreading the Good News through Art done by learners.
The East Rand Men’s Choir has given successful concerts in the Voortrekker Monument, in Kempton Park, Vereeniging and in Potchefstroom. In March 2018 the choir performed with Amira in Potchefstroom.
MCS Primary school choir came 2nd in the Kempton Park Choir Cantare under the choir direction of Hester.
Live radio interview with Pretoria Fm about the performance of Hester’s Requiem for the Victims of Crime and Violence in South Africa on the 3 September 2018.
The East Rand Choral Artists performed Hester’s composition – Requiem for the Victims of Crime and Violence in South Africa in the Auditorium of Maranatha Christian Church. This very successful concert was done with a small orchestra, soloists and 100 choir participants.
Hester entered over a 150 learners for the Kempton Park Eisteddfod. These learners entered for Art, Solo singing, Percussion Bands, Instrumental solos and the choir. (2018)
